hooo buddy. i have been touching so much grass. and also dealing with some of the worst interpersonal bullshit i have ever experienced.
i may like hearing about drama and messiness but i do not tolerate drama in my own relationships. im kinda notorious for ruthlessly cutting people off if i even get a WHIFF of a red flag. unfortunately, it is based on trust issues so ive been working on trusting people more.
which has totally bit me in the ass now 🙃
but life is balance so i just need to find that sweet spot between not trusting anyone and how far i am willing to flex my own boundaries in relationships. and the past 2 years, i think ive really got a grasp of those boundaries. okay. maybe not completely but ive had alot of practice navigating that LMAO
and what im trying not to do is just completely isolate now. ill isolate a lil bit, lol. but not much. ANNDDDD ill use the isloation to focus on some hobbies ive been neglecting! like clothing alteration and Dance Dance Revolution.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT SAD LIFE STUFF
im currently doing a Halloween movie marathon to lift my spirits. but its not ghosts movies.. ITS VAMPIRES!!
vampires are defintiely number one on Ash's Top 5 Favorite Supernatural Monsters list. i honestly would become a vampire if i could, even with all the drawbacks like never seeing the sun again.
some of these ive seen but i tried to pick ones that would be new to me.
Vampire Halloween 2025 🧛
- Van Helsing (2004) (watched 10/04/25): i thought it was a lil silly to have the addition of Frankenstein but it was a fun movie nonetheless. it gave me Batman & Robin and Batman Forever vibes (which are my favorite Batman movies hahaha). best way i could describe it is if a comic book came to life, but not in a modern Marvel type of way. think the Batman movies i mentioned or Toby Maguire Spiderman. i LOVE that type of movie atmosphere
- Blade (watched 10/09/25): i had seen this before but i forgot how much i loved this movie. and dont even get me started on the music in the opening scene! i could listen to that on repeat forever.
- Nosferatu (2024) (watched 10/12/25): literally no notes. kino. absolute cinema. the camera shots? fuck. the story? yes. the commentary on misogyny? everything. just watch it.
- From Dusk til Dawn (watched 10/12/25): i didnt know almost anything about this before going into it except vampires happen. and it TOOK SO LONG, hahaha. the entire time me and my partner were trying to sus out when they would appear, and for those who haven't seen it, it takes almost an hour or so for it to happen! but don't get it twisted, it was a very good movie before (and after) the vampires. 7 out of 5, would recommend. also this is just another example of why tarantino will never beat the foot fetich allegations (amongst other allegations).
- Salem's Lot (watched 10/13/25): boooo 🍅🍅 but i think i just dont like Steven King's works, lol. like i LOVED the vamps in this movie. those get 10/10. the plot was just blegh and he was too heavy-handed with the "small town america is dying" (well dead now) message. it wasnt as bad but reminded me of the heavy-handedness of birdemic LMAO
- Byzantium (watched 10/16/25): i had seen this movie before but i forgot almost everything about it. absolutely love, even though it was more of a romance movie than vampires. i just liked the concept of the only female vampires fighting against the vampire patriarchy, i guess. i wish that part was explored more than the romance, but that was cute too. solid 7 out of 10
- The Last Voyage of the Demeter (watched 10/15/25): now this is the type of vampire movie i love. all dark and dreary and suspense. similar to Nosferatu but with more action. but not like Blade or Underworld action. more subtle. 8 out of 10
- Only Lovers Left Alive
- Cronos (1993)
- Vampire Hunter D
- Thirst (2009)
- Dracula (1992)
- The Lost Boys
- Dark Shadows
- Underworld
ill update this as i watch and add some comments about each movie. super excited to get into the Halloween season, its one of my favorite holidays 🎃
thats all i got for now, see ya on the flip side 🤙
